Always, Sometimes, Never
Clock, looping video projection, C Print
I am a bit obsessed by the ways in which we use technologies such as clocks and language to measure our experiences of time, space and being; and the ways in which these technologies fail, break apart or become absurd.
In a homage to the work of Joseph Kosuth and Art and Language, I created this series of works that looked at the potential for different media to record various embodied experiences of time, rather than the abstract construct of time as a sequential line.
Sometimes is a physical clock with two hands pointing to the time in London and South Africa,
Always is a C-print of a 24 hour exposure of a clock,
and Never is a digitally animated loop that fails to tell the time completely..
